We've been busy. This summer, Modern Mountain Vacations has opened our doors to two brand-new properties right in the heart of South Lake Tahoe — and they couldn't be more different from each other. Whether your crew is chasing powder, trails, and lake days from a purpose-built basecamp, or craving a slower, more restorative kind of mountain escape, we've got a home for that. Lake Trail Lodge — Built for the Ones Who Can't Sit Still
If your version of a vacation involves getting out the door early and squeezing every last thing out of the day, Lake Trail Lodge was built with you in mind.
This brand-new 2,300 sq ft custom home sits right off Ski Run Blvd, one of South Lake Tahoe's most central corridors running from the base of Heavenly all the way down to the lake. 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and room to sleep 8 adults comfortably means no one is fighting over the shower before getting up for first tracks. Our open-concept kitchen and living area is designed for your entire group to gather, refuel, and plan the next day. Our custom kitchen isn't an afterthought here; it's the heart of the home.
What sets Lake Trail Lodge apart from other homes in the area is its specific infrastructure for active travel: dedicated ski and gear storage in the garage, space to dry out after a powder day, and a smart layout that actually handles the logistical reality of getting 8 people out the door and onto the mountain or trails.

Heavenly Mountain Resort is a 5-minute drive (or a short walk to the free shuttle stop). Lake Tahoe and Ski Run Marina are walkable. The Tahoe Rim Trail, Powerline Trail, and Lake Trail are close by so hikers and mountain bikers have direct access to multiple trail networks just minutes away. Stateline casinos are minutes from the front door for those evening detours, and most of South Shore is within 15 minutes.
