Bordering the Tahoe Forest, our large, split level home is nestled in the quiet Cold Creek Neighborhood. Just 10 minutes from Heavenly Ski Resort, the lake and beaches, plus seconds to hiking. Complete with two large living areas, 5 King sized beds, decks on all levels, epic forest and mountain views and a fully equipped kitchen-your group will love it here. Just off the beaten path, but close enough to town to enjoy all of Tahoe!

Our expansive home has had plenty of updates over the years and features a massive great room, three large south-facing decks with views, and endless forest for a backyard with horseshoe pit.
Our home located in the Cold Creek neighborhood with easy access to all that Sourh Lake Tahoe has to offer. Tucked just on the edge of the forest, The Mountain Haus offers the perfect balance of seclusion and adventure. Step out the back door onto the Powerline Trail for an early morning hike or mountain bike ride, then return to unwind in the hot tub or for an epic sunset on the deck.
The great room has 16-foot vaulted ceilings and a view of South Lake Tahoe's most dramatic mountain: Mt. Tallac. This light-filled, airy space is next to our kitchen and living room & perfect for gathering your entire group. Just off the great room is one of our 3 large decks complete with BBQ, dining table, and comfortable lounge seating.
There are 3 large smart TVs (one in each living area + one in the primary bedroom)
Downstairs, the primary bedroom has its own large soaking tub, double sinks, and walk in shower. The game room features a bar, pool table, and wood-burning stove. With 4 bedrooms plus a private bonus/flex room off the game room with its own ensuite bathroom (split amongst 2 1/2 levels), this home can accommodate many while still allowing plenty of privacy for your entire group. We are permitted to host up to 8 guests, with children aged 5 and under not included in this number. We love hosting families!

The Montgomery Estates neighborhood is one of the best in South Lake Tahoe. You'll find a very quiet street with nicer homes on larger lots. Forest service land backs to the home and there is an unbuildable Forest Service lot in front of the house for added privacy and a woodsy feel. At the same time, you are only a 5 minute drive from Heavenly, the Casinos and Lake Tahoe.
That being said, this is a quiet residential neighborhood-no parties or events are allowed. If staying up late, please ensure that all windows and doors are closed and noise is kept inside past the hours of 10pm.
In winter months, please check with California's Department of Transportation website for road conditions, restrictions & closures. It is advisable to always carry chains, especially with 2wd vehicles.

The Powerline Trail starts in the backyard. This mellow trail leads to lake views and either Cold Creek to the South or Heavenly to the Northeast. It is a great trail for hikes, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. It joins up with the Cold Creek Trail which is one of the best and least known Tahoe mountain biking trails.
The county of El Dorado mandates that hot tubs cannot be used between the hours of 10 pm and 8 am, due to noise violations and disturbances from vacation rental homes. Please adhere to these rules-non compliance can result in the loss of your deposit & fine from the county.
Events are not allowed at this site. Event means a gathering or occurrence for socializing or celebrating, including, but not limited to, wedding, reception, bachelor/bachelorette party, commercial filming, concert, and/or any other similar happenings.
Pets are not allowed at this rental.
Our owner requires that primary guest booking must be 25 years of age or older & must be staying at the home.
Our County requires us to collect a signed rental agreement and keep on file each renter's name, email address and contact phone number. We will send out a rental agreement after your booking for you to complete.

Perfect home base for our annual ski trip! Four of us stayed here for five nights in January while skiing Heavenly, and this place exceeded expectations in every way. The house was immaculately clean and stocked with everything we could possibly need—we didn't have to make a single run to the store. After long days on the mountain, the hot tub was our salvation. It heated up to a solid 104°F, which was exactly what our legs needed. The whole property was in perfect condition, clearly well-maintained and cared for. Location worked great for our group—easy access to Heavenly and everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer. We've been doing this ski trip for years and this is easily one of the best places we've booked. Already talking about coming back next season. Highly recommend for ski groups!

The house has everything you need for a great Tahoe stay—easy access to trails, comfortable furnishings and a very well-equipped kitchen—while still being close to amenities.
