Welcome to Sierra Sauna House—a custom-built mountain retreat designed for restorative Tahoe stays, meaningful time together, and comfortable living in every season.
Located in South Lake Tahoe’s central and desirable Bijou neighborhood, this LEED Gold Certified home was thoughtfully built in 2008 with quality craftsmanship, natural materials, and wellness in mind. Across three levels and 2,610 square feet, abundant natural light fills the home while whole-house HEPA air filtration and filtered water create a fresh, clean indoor environment.
The entry level is home to three of the four bedrooms, creating a comfortable layout for families and groups traveling together. The primary suite offers a peaceful escape with a spacious ensuite bathroom featuring a soaking tub, separate shower, oversized walk-in closet, and direct access to the backyard and hot tub. Two additional queen bedrooms sit further down the hall, one with backyard access. A full bathroom, dedicated laundry room, and a cozy TV nook provide practical spaces for slower mornings and relaxed evenings.
The main living level was designed for gathering. The open kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow naturally onto the upper deck, complete with outdoor lounge seating, dining, and a BBQ overlooking a beautiful forested backdrop. It’s the kind of space made for shared meals, board games, morning coffee, and evenings under the trees.
Out back, the experience becomes something special. Soak in the hot tub after a day on the mountain or follow the moss-lined stepping stone path to the private sauna tucked into its own separate structure. You will love this quiet place to unwind and reset!
The mezzanine level offers space to recharge and reconnect as well. Enjoy the dedicated wellness studio with a Peloton (bring your shoes!), weights, yoga blocks, mirrors, and peaceful forest views, plus a small work-from-home area. Just beyond is the fourth bedroom, a bright and inviting retreat with a queen bed, sitting area, and nearby full bathroom with walk-in shower.
Just a 5-minute drive to the lake and 10 minutes to Heavenly California Lodge, Sierra Sauna House is ideal for families and thoughtful guests looking for a well-designed home base to experience Tahoe and all that it has to offer.

Guests have full access to the home, sauna, and hot tub. There is no garage access.

Please Note! We do not allow any outdoor amplified sound (speakers, karaoke, other noise generating equipment) at any time at this home. If you would like to partake in these activities, please plan to book a different home.
We are permitted to host up to 8 guests and 3 vehicles at Sierra Sauna House. Up to 5 children 13 years old and under do not count in the total guest count.
You must be 25 years or older to book at a reservation at Sierra Sauna House. Verification with a government issued ID is required.
A rental agreement and good neighbor contract are required to be completed and signed at booking.
Our quiet hours are 10 pm-8 am
Hot tub hours are 8 am- 10 pm
Please bring all noises (music, louder talking, etc) inside and close nearby windows and doors if staying up and enjoying each other's company after 10 pm.
Please do not bring any amplified music (speakers, etc) outside onto the decks

This home was very lovely. We had the best time here. The home was very clean and pristine when we arrived and honestly, if we didn’t have anything planned being in the home in itself is a vacation as well, that’s how beautiful the home is. The home is really close to many cool restaurants and cool things to do and not too far of a drive from Sand Harbor Beach and some of the other popular beaches known around Lake Tahoe. Our hosts, April and Viktoria we’re very responsive and very on top of communicating and letting us know about many different recommendations. They even have a manual for the house that explains virtually everything. If I could rate this house more, I would. Would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Tahoe. Thank you again to our lovely hosts!!

We had an amazing stay at the Sierra Sauna House in South Lake Tahoe. The house was newly remodeled and beautifully designed, with modern amenities and everything we could possibly need. It was also fully stocked, which made our stay especially comfortable and convenient. The location was excellent, and the home was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the area. April was a wonderful host and was extremely responsive throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the Sierra Sauna House to anyone visiting South Lake Tahoe!
